If you’ve followed my blog for any amount of time than you know I’m in love with Target collaborations. While I’m certainty willing to pull an all-nighter for the once a year designer collabs in April I also appreciate the more long term collaborations and I am currently loving the one with Who What Wear. The collection includes a lot of trendy and high fashion looks in regular in plus sizes but at Target prices – yes! I’ve purchased a few pieces from this collection but right now I am currently obsessed with a yellow outfit from earlier this year – and best of all right now it’s on sale!
So this looks like a cute dress, right? Wrong! It’s actually a top and skirt – check the sale racks at your local store because it seems to be sold out online.
I typically never wear yellow but I was just really drawn to this outfit. I felt like my dress selection is a little lacking but I also prefer to spend on versatile pieces right now so the fact that this is two separate pieces really excited me.
I’ve worn the skirt both to work (with a white button down blouse) and on the weekends – most recently for our date night with this fun off the shoulder lemon print top (It’s from Forever 21 so another bargain). I really love the shape of this skirt and find it super flattering and comfortable – I feel very ladylike and polished when wearing it and the knee length is perfect for me.
The top brings in the statement sleeve trend and goes great with a black skirt – I’ve also thought about wearing it with navy.
The color being a mustardy yellow works but summer but it’s something I can carry over into the fall, which is perfect because it’s still pretty warm in Memphis in September and October so I’m always struggling to dress fall-ish but not overheat and the weight of this fabric is perfect for that. I find the quality pretty great too – the seams are reinforced. I had to size up on the top because my size was a tad too tight on my chest – ordinarily I’d be fine with the top just being a little loose since I tuck it in anyway but since I’m already getting a lot of wear I think its worth spending a little extra to get it tailored.
No matter how I wear these pieces I tend to get a lot of compliments on these outfits and while I don’t live my life for others I will admit it does feel nice. Next time you’re in your local target I strongly recommend checking out the Who What Wear collection.
