As a teen I never broke out but in college and my adult life it was a completely different story. Then when I turned 33 it seemed like that was going to be the magic age where the adult acne stopped, and for the most part it has but now I get some pesky flair ups during my period – I hate this because well duh, don’t we all hate acne? But also I feel like I might as well be wearing a giant neo sign that says HEY, I”M ON MY PERIORD Y’ALL! Not that having a period is weird or anything to be ashamed of but it feels so personal and the rest of the world knowing exactly what is going on with my body just bothers me. Point being, I’m always on the look out for ways to deal with this little monthly annoyances.

Lucky for me right as my last cycle was ending and I had one stubborn spot in particular to deal with The Method arrived. This skin care routine is a three step process meant to be used together. and for the past few weeks I have been following the daily routine.

Step 1: Polish
I LOVE the way this smells! The polish is only to be done once a day and based on the lovely lavender scent my assumption is at night but there have been days where I’ve done it in the morning instead. This is a really fine scrub that feels like a microdermabrasion and leaves skin feeling really smooth. I know you’re not supposed to touch your face but sometimes I just cant help myself – it feels soooo smooth, which also helps foundation go on better. For the first two weeks I used daily as recommended but I noticed as I got further away from my cycle my skin changed and it was a bit too harsh for me personally to use daily as my skin would be bright pink without makeup. So, during a flair up I use daily but otherwise just a few times a week.

Step 2: Cleanse
I’m usually hesitant on cleansers because they can stip away natural oils but I found this one to be soothing without stripping. It doesn’t lather because it’s not soapy (that a good thing!) and it does a great job or cleaning away makeup and anything else that would potentially clog pores.

Step 3: Nourish
The last step is a on scents, creamy moisturizer. The Nourish formula is very lightweight and is meant to be used in the AM and PM. Because Polish does a great job keeping my skin smooth I find it goes on well and is a good base for putting on foundation during the day – unlike a lot of moisturizers it doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy or sticky.

Bonus Step: Eye Cream
As a bonus, I also received an eye cream – like Nourish this is non scented but it has a richer, thicker formula.

And here I am now, no makeup no filter:

Overall I was really impressed with how The Method was able to clear up the blemishes I had and kept any new ones from popping up – I’m about to start my cycle again but so far nothing, Woohoo!
