Since I no longer get Ipsy I thought it would be fun to try the Target beauty box this month. The cost is only $7 and includes a $3 coupon towards my next beauty purchase. Here’s what’s inside:
Super Aqua Snail Mask $6
Snail mucin beauty products are all the rage right now. Basically women are like seaweed doesn’t gross us out anymore, what’s something even more nasty we can put on our faces? This was my first time trying a snail product and I’ll admit I didn’t dislike it . This mask has a jell layer instead of being a paper mask but it’s just as easy to use as a paper mask. Allegedly this mask hydrates and heals skin while preventing aging – I don’t know about all of that but it did feel nice and I'[m not wearing makeup today and not offended by the way my face looks so I guess that’s a good thing.
Tom’s Coconut Oil Soap $4
I had high hopes for this – if felt nice going on, I like the scent and it left my bathwater all milky. However, it’s still a soap and left my skin squeaky clean – that’s not a good thing folks, you want natural oils. Pass
Dover Derma Care Scalp 2 in 1 Shampoo and Conditioner $5I actually really like the dove scalp line but I never use a 2 in 1 – it’s not enough conditioner for my hair – I have a oily scalp but dry ends so I wash but also condition daily. But here’s a little secret: I like to use a dandruff shampoo in the winter when my skin is prone to getting a bit more dry – it’s pretty much the same price as body wash but I find it more soothing. I used this in the shower today and like it.
Skinfix Ultra Rich Hand Cream $10
I like it enough – thick an not greasy but honestly I prefer a scented hand cream. Great for guys or those with allergies though!
La Roche Face Wash $15
I found this to clean well without stripping my face. Nothing special but nothing bad.
Maybelline Great Lash Mascara $4.50
I never get excited about a mascara sample but I also never buy it because I get so many samples so I’m keeping this one sealed up until it’s time to open a new tube but come on, it’s every woman familiar with this product already?
Overall I thought this was a good box – especially for the price. Once again my love for target is confirmed.
