Sephora Play January 2018

This year I’ve cut back on subscription boxes a lot – right now it’s just Mommy Lhey Little Bits (planner supplies) and Sephora Play (beauty). Don’t get me wrong, I love getting subscription boxes but if I’m being perfectly honest I also love picking my own things to buy and I’m trying to be even smarter with my spending this year. That said, I like Sephora Play because for $10 a month it keeps me connected with the latest beauty products and lets me try them without spending a fortune.

This month I was super excited by the products inside this months box.

Glam Glow Cleanser $32

I really like the gla glow masks so I was really excited to try this cleanser and it did not disappoint. Most cleansers cannot get off my eye makeup and I have to use a remover but this one cleaned my entire face. Its not drying and because it has a similar consistency although lighter than the mask I feel like it does a great job of giving a deep clear rather than just clean makeup from the skin’s surface.

Smashbox Photofinish Primerizer $32

I’ll admit – I tend to wear a primer or a moisturizer not both so the idea of a combined product really appeals to me. I felt like this had the same performance as the regular smashbox primer so I see myself switching to this product.

Clinique Pep Start Eye Cream $26.50

I am terrible about wearing eye cream everyday and I should – I’m approaching my mid-30s and try as I might I do not drink as much water everyday as I should so I really need the assistance. I like that this has some brightening aspect to it – because seriously, who has time for 8+ hours of sleep every night? it also has a nice spreadable consistency so a little product goes a long way.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss in Kristen $16

I love a neutral lip and I love it in a gloss form but this is very similar to other lip items I have so while I’m sure it’s great I set it aside to feature in a beauty giveaway . . . .spoiler alert: I plan on doing a beauty bag stuffed with goodies giveaway soon.

Boscia Exfoliating Peel Gel $34

This product really needs it’s own post to talk about how great it is but let’s just say I LOVE it. If you are serious about keeping your skin nice and smooth and / or you have some scars you’re looking to fade than lets just say this product is for you.

Bonus Item: Ouai Treatment Mask $32

I LOVE that this year the bonus won’t always be a perfume sample. I love perfume but I have a whole container full of samples on my vanity. I’ve used this conditioning mask before and it has not disappointed – I find my hair less frizzy when I use it.

Sephora Play is off to a great start this year! Can’t wait to see what products I get this month.
