“Well, don’t you look all princessey” my hubby said to me as he took photos of this look . . . which makes sense considering that’s what it says on the label. . . .
See, I wasn’t kidding. All Society+ items actually come with a fun affirmation label, which is just a fun brand touch but it’s certainty true for this outfit.
I remember when tulle skirts first became popular a few years ago and I thought oh no way I could wear that, I would look huge and ridiculous; but then I tried one on and you know what – I felt FABULOUS! I actually think while tulle skirts look fabulous on anyone they are perfect for plus size women because they’re not overwhelming. Plus hello, they’re fun and pretty.
I’ve been wearing tulle for a couple of years now but it’s only been recently that I’ve worn a Society+ Tutu Skirt and let me just say – what a difference! Each tutu skirt has 5 layers of tulle which gives a nice level of poof. The waist band is super comfortable and has a pretty good amount of stretch which allows for the perfect fit and I love that each one comes with a coordinating ribbon to tie around the waist. Each skirt is fully lined and the tulle is sturdy without losing the light and airy feel (I’ve had other tulle skirts rip on me in the past so this is an important quality to me). Overall I am ridiculously impressed with this skirt. The care instructions do say to hand wash but I didn’t have any problems washing mine in the machine and then hanging to dry.
I recently wore this skirt to Church and then to the grocery store and I kid y’all not -I got at least 8 compliments from random people in the short time I was out and about. Not that you should wear clothes to make other people happy because what you wear should always make you happy but hey, I’m not complaining either. I love tulle for holidays and special events because it’s fun and dressy yet super comfortable – anytime I can look like I put in a lot of effort when I didn’t is a win for me – but it’s also something I can wear just because. You’ll never look out of place at a dressy event in a tutu in my opinion at the same time you don’t have to be going somewhere super dressy either so to me they’re a great piece to have in my closet (because you know I get invited to so many last minute dressy events . . .not, but hey a girl can dream)
Tutus are available in six different colors and come in sizes 14 to 32 – there’s even a long black tutu for when you really want to take the fabulous up a notch. If you use my code MANDYSUE you can save 10% on tutus and ANY Society+ purchase 🙂

The skirt featured in this post was generously provided to me by Society+ to wear during a recent instagram takeover however this arrangement did not include this post which I have chosen to write on my own. I have several Society+ items I have paid for with my own money and will continue to shop with this brand***
