After an awesome start to my Ipsy Glam Bag Plus subscription in May I was super excited to see what June had in store. I love the print of this month’s bag and think it’s a great size for carrying the essentials in my bag for summer.
Glam Bag Plus Subscribers have the option of selecting one item for their bag and the rest will be randomly chosen based on the customer profile and product availability. For June, I chose the ciate eye shadow in a champagne color. Here’s what’s in my June Glam Bag Plus.
1. Hey Honey Take Away the Drama peel off mask $49
The reviews on this mask are mixed but I like it. I regularly shave the peach fuzz off my face and I think that makes a difference in the removal. I also found that it took longer to dry than listed on the bottle. My face was incredibly smooth and soft after the first use and felt like it did a good job of exfoliating off the top layer of dead skin.
2. Purlisse watermelon energizing aqua balm $24
The name on this one is confusing but it’s a gel moisturizer. I am using this as my daytime moisturizer and have been very pleased with it – it’s very lightweight and doesn’t leave my oily skin greasy. It does smell very strong when initially applied but that scent is very quick to dissipate.
3. Dr Brandt Pores No More Luminizer Primer $38
I absolutely love Dr Brandt products and think they are worth their higher pricetag. I do notice a difference when I use this primer vs when I skip the step with my foundation application. I honestly don’t think it makes much of a difference with luminizing but I still like and recommend this product.
4. Araceli Ojos Perfectos Liquid Eyeliner $17
It’s honestly hard to get excited about a black eyeliner; it’s kinda a big joke in the Ipsy community how much they send out black eyeliner. That said, if you are looking for one this one is nice and I like the long tip with the super thin point.
5. Ciate London Marbled Metals Eyeshadow $24
Even though I picked this item it wound up being my least favorite. I had hoped the shade entwine would be a perfect highlight for the corners of my eye and under my brow but I found the color to subtle and blended right into my light skin. I do think it’s ok as a light base to brighten my eyelids before applying color so I’ll still use it, it just wasn’t what I expected.
This bring my total bag value to $152! I was initially disappointed to receive a skincare heavy bag but I enjoyed all the products. I’ve decided to upgrade to the Glam Bag Ultimate for July in hopes of getting a broader mix of skincare and makeup as I am enjoying experimenting with makeup colors and brands still but did enjoy the skincare items.
If you want to join in the fun Ipsy Glam Bag Plus is $25/month and includes five full size items. You can also get regular glam bag for five deluxe samples at $12/ month or glam bag ultimate with eight full size and four deluxe samples at $50/month. Sign up here.
