I have been wearing Fabletics for years now so I’m always surprised when I talk to someone looking for work-out or athleisure wear and they haven’t tried it. Although intended for fitness and great for it my Fabletics wardrobe really took center stage in my wardrobe when I started working for home. Fabletics offers a monthly membership that offers great saving $49.95 per month for one member credit which can often cover a set, plus you can skip month or save your credits to be used in the future. First time members can get two pairs of leggings for $24 so it’s really affordable to give it a try. Fabletics leggings come in several fabrics so here’s a break down of each one.
PowerHold – strongest compression – lightweight material with UPF 50+ sun protection
The powerhold is Fabletics signature fabric and can be worn for a variety of activities. I find the powerhold to be less compression than Spanx but the most compression I have found outside of Spanx. As a plus size person I love the support because let’s be real, I don’t want my thighs and belly jiggling when I run. I also find these leggings to be very good quality, I have pairs that I have worn for years now and they are still in good shape. These leggings are never see-through and are the only ones I would consider wearing out of the house as part of an outfit. Last year when I was recovering from surgery I wore nothing but Fabletics powerhold leggings for weeks as they were soft enough and had enough stretch to get on without causing discomfort to my healing incision but offered the support I needed.
Because this is Fabletics signature material I find that it has the widest variety of prints and colors. Don’t get me wrong, a good pair of black leggings is a must for me but I love wearing fun colors and unique prints as well. I like the 7/8 length, but it is also available in a capri and shorts. I typically wear my usual size in the powerhold but will sometimes size up if I want something with a little more comfort. I do find the first time putting on a new pair in my standard size requires a little more patience
Motion365 – high compression – breathability and easy to move in
I really prefer pants when hiking to provide an extra layer of protection from bugs, poison ivy, and let’s be real – in case I fall. The breathability of this fabric allows me to have that protection without getting overheated, so I am a fan. This fabric is the perfect balance of support and stretch which his important when I might find myself climbing over rocks and need a full range of motion. The stitching is reinforced all over adding to the durability. I tend to pick my Fabletics outfits for aesthetics but now that I have tried this fabric it is one I will be seeking out in future outfits.
SculptKnit – medium compression -thicker material
Recommended for training, Scultpknit is durable with lots of stretch and support. I personally like the feel of less weighty leggings but I absolutely love this fabric for sports bras as it gives some nice lift and support without being constricting, you may like that same support on your booty as well making this the perfect fabric for you.
PureLuxe – medium-light compression – soft buttery feel
PurLuxe is recommended for studio sessions but these are my absolute favorite work from home leggings and they are just fine for taking the dogs for a walk too. These leggings are so comfortable, and I love the smooth feel of the fabric. They are comfortable enough to wear all day long and I’ve even slept in them on occasion.
Seamless – light compression – second skin feel
Not available in plus so I have not personally tried these, best I can tell this would be the Fabletics version of the align legging from lululemon.
I hope this breakdown has been helpful in determining which Fabletics fabric is needed right for you. You really can’t go wrong in my opinion!
