I’m a big proponent of the “treat yo self” mantra. I think it’s great women have adopted this mindset to give themselves permission to make big purchases or go on fabulous trips but I think it’s important to remember that sometimes there’s not a lot of time or money to treat yourself with. What has become one of my favorite self care rituals – taking an hour long bubble bath in our soaker tub – wasn’t always accessible to me. And I don’t think “treat yo self” is something we should only do on occasion either. So, I’m sharing some small ways to treat yo self on a regular basis. They are affordable and accessible, because we all deserve a little treat more than once in a while.
It’s that time of year again – the Nordstrom anniversary sale is here! This year I am sharing my top 10 recommendations of things to look for in the sale,…
I have been wearing Fabletics for years now so I’m always surprised when I talk to someone looking for work-out or athleisure wear and they haven’t tried it. Although intended…
When researching things to do for our smoky mountains trip I knew we wanted to go on a waterfall hike, but I also wanted to be realistic and find one that was easy to moderate. Laurel Falls provided a great way to be active but not push ourselves past our comfort level. Although this hike is 1.3 miles out and back (so 2.6 miles total) and uphill the whole way it is also paved. This is one of the most popular hikes in the great smoky mountains and we saw lots of families and hikers of all ages along the way.
Last year I shared about our pregnancy loss and I have since shared my fertility testing results. Although we had hoped to conceive a child naturally we have known even…
Living in the south you have to take advantage of nice weather while you can. The summer heat and humidity can make the outdoors miserable and it gets cold enough in the winter to limit outdoor activity. So as soon as it was nice enough we were eager to go on another hike and enjoy some fresh air. While still new to hiking we prefer moderate hikes in the two to three mile range and found the perfect opportunity at Lake Catherine State Park in Hot Springs AR.
I’m so excited to be pursuing motherhood but it’s been such a complicated emotional journey. I bought this dress a few months ago when I was feeling pretty low looking…
Spring is a time for new beginnings so what better time to celebrate by getting yourself a new dress, or two! I always get a new dress for Easter so while I have added lots of dresses to my wardrobe recently I’m focusing on ones that would make great Easter looks depending upon the look you’re going for. I even added a not dress look too for those that prefer something else. In addition to Easter these looks would also be perfect spring wedding guest looks depending upon the formality of the wedding.
My requirement for clothing is that it must be comfortable to wear at home but cute enough to wear outside the house. While we may be just saying good bye to winter soon enough the Memphis heat will be oppressive so I am a big fan of lightweight cotton clothing. The moment I saw this rainbow gingham dress from J.Crew I knew it was the kind of dress I could wear for spring and summer for years to come.
I’m always thrilled when retailers offer inclusive sizes in store so when Athleta joined this club I was so excited! Athleta offered high quality fashionable activewear. While plus sizes have been offered online for years 2021 brought us inclusive sizing in store up to 3x.
