Do you ever have an article of clothing where you think oh this would look so cute with X, but you don’t have X so it just sits in your closet unworn? That’s how I feel about a lot of my dresses and for me X was a pair of tights in fun colors. To be honest I’ve spent most of my life hating pantyhose / tights because well, they’re tight! As someone who is both tall and plus size I’ve always felt like I was shoving myself into something not really meant for my body when wearing tights. But after following Snag Tights on social media for a while and seeing women in a variety of shapes and sizes in their tights I decided it was time to give them a try!
Snag Tights is UK based so shipping time to the US can be a little slow – my order arrived about one month after it was placed. Snag Tights pricing is similar to what you might pay at Target but they have many colors beyond basic black and nude. Traditional tights are $12/pair with slightly increased pricing for novelty tights. Snag Tights does offer volume discounts – 10% off three pairs and 15% off six or more pairs. Since I knew shipping was going to take a minute I decided to go all in and purchase six pairs at once.
According to their size chart, Snag Tights can accommodate up to a US size 32, which makes them pretty inclusive. I am 5’10 and wear a size 22 so I ordered size G, which is their largest size, in accordance with the size chart. I do find the size G to be roomy and comfortable, but not so much that I have excess fabric pooling around my ankles. I probably would have been fine in an F but when I order again I’ll probably stick with a G for maximum comfort. I do have room in the tummy area to stretch so I am confident that size G would work for someone tall and larger than a 22.
For my order I decided to mix basics with fun colors. Going back to needing X, I specifically wanted a pair of turquoise tights to go with this lace dress to compliment the turquoise velvet bow embellishment. Black tights are always a good idea so I also got a pair of classic black and sheer black with polka dots. I then rounded out my order with pink, purple and raspberry – I didn’t have any particular items in mind to pair with these but these colors seemed the most likely for my aesthetic. I also added a wash bag to my order so that I could wash my tights in the washing machine without worrying if they will snag on something. My package did come with a card on care instructions and how to properly wash my tights.
Overall I am very pleased with this purchase and see myself ordering from Snag Tights again in the future. The tights are very soft and stretchy but are sturdy as well. In the past tights were something I only wore out of the house due to a lack of comfort but I find Snag Tights comfortable enough to wear at home as a layer of warmth. Snag Tights do not have a control top so if that is something you usually look for in tights know that you would need to wear a separate control top garment with these; I personally don’t mind this as it add to the comfort but I did think it was worth mentioning.
