Happy Halloween Y’all! Hope you’re having a fun day. With work taking over my life right now Shaun is on passing out candy duty at home tonight but we were able to have some seasonal fun with friends over the weekend and hosted a murder mystery night.
Fall took forever to arrive in Memphis but it’s finally here and beside bringing out my wraps, plaid flannel shirts and boots and tights one of my favorite ways to celebrate the season is to put up some festive decorations around the house and have some seasonal treats. I am NOT a pumpkin spice girl at all but I do love a good apple cider and I served an adult version over the weekend. This is actually the same cocktail we served at our wedding which was a big hit so now y’all finally have the recipe to make at home and enjoy.
1. One 1/2 gallon jug of apple cider – you can use any kind but if you have one near by we really loved the Trader Joes cider we used last year at the wedding.
2. One cup of caramel flavored vodka
3. One bottle of pinot grigio – you can use whatever you have on hand but the 4 buck chuck at TJs works just as nice as anything fancier
Mix the ingredients in a large pitcher or punch bowl and serve chilled. One batch was enough for our group of eight.
4. If you want to be fancy cut up and apple to mix in and serve with a cinnamon stick – but in our house ain’t nobody got time for that
