I thought I had unsubscribed from Ipsy but apparently I just skipped last month so yesterday I had the unexpected surprise of an ipsy bag in the mail. The October bag is really cute and I will absolutely use this as my purse makeup bag. As for the products I have mixed feelings, here’s what’s inside:
I usually don’t use a oil in my hair but my ends have been kinda dry and frizzy lately so I figured hey why not. I was pleasantly surprised how this didn’t make my hair feel greasy or weighted down and it did make the ends smoother so it’s something I would consider purchasing in the future. I do wish it came in different scents, this one smells beachy which is nice but this time of year I’d prefer a less tropical scent.
Dermelect Nail Polish $12
I’m not even going to link to this product I thought it was that awful. I personally am not a fan of the shade but that aside the formula had an awful application – very thick but then as it dried there were little bubble of separation yuck!
I don’t use finishing powders as much as I should but this was has a nice velvety smooth texture and didn’t make my skin look dry or cakey.
Obviously it hasn’t been long enough to see any treatment results but I do like the idea of a concealer and under eye treatment in one product. I found the shade to be a nice neutral and the application to be smooth so I’ll continue to use this product . . . .maybe it will wind up in a future beauty favorites post.
In general I like urban decay products and this one is no exception. Glides on very smooth and allows for a good application without smudges. I do wish we were sent a fun color because I kid you not I have 5 black eyeliner samples in my drawer – yawn!
Overall I liked the products in this month’s bag but right now I finding myself on beauty sample overload so I did go in and properly cancel my subscription. I had an issue with my Sephora play subscription this month because I had to get a new credit card but I do plan on getting that box next month and having it as my only beauty subscription. . . at least for now.
