Nordstrom Sale Plus Size Picks

For the past few years I have been asked for my Nordstrom sale recommendations and I’ve never really made the time to focus on the sale. I don’t recommend purchases lightly as I never want to promote over consumerism but I recognize that the Nordstrom Sale is a great opportunity to get new fall pieces at a great price and stock up on favorites. Plus, this year features a better selection of plus sizes, which I feel like have been ignored by the sale in the past.

I’ve broken down my recommendations by category and included items that are already tried and true favorites such as skinny jeans, comfy jammies and my favorite beauty brands as well as pieces that would be a fun addition to your fall wardrobe. I was very selective and am only recommending a few pieces on each category so I hope you’ll enjoy my curated recommendations.

Cardigans and Coats

Cardigans and coats are some of my favorite pieces so I’n always excited when it’s cold enough to wear them. This year we are seeing a return of fall trends in prints – leopard, color block and plaid – but the sale is also a good time to pick up some classic pieces – a trench if you don’t already have one or a cashmere wrap (I’m showing it in the black below but it’s also available in pink and grey).

Tops and Dresses

Tops and dresses are a bit of a weakness for the sale imo but I did find a few cute tops that would be good paired with jackets and cardigans, I can never resist a ruffle and the tee linked comes in three colors. For dresses I only saw two styles at a price point I would be comfortable purchasing but each does come in multiple prints. Dresses for fall are giving me major 90s vibes and I’m not mad about it! I love dresses because they are so effortlessly chic – for fall all you need is to pair with boots and throw on a hat.

Bottoms

Unfortunately I didn’t see any cute skirts in the plus size offerings but there are plenty of cute pants to choose from – including the infamous Spanx Faux Leather leggings which I am hoping to snag! Fall is also a great time to get a new pair of jeans – skinny jeans are a tried and true favorite of mine because they are so easy to style. I also included a few pairs of pants from the in house brand Halogen because I really like the quality of any Halogen piece I have purchased.

My favorite style of jammies is included in the sale this year and I’m so torn between the pink and white stripes or pretty floral print. Of course, not everyone likes sleeping in a lot of fabric I linked a sleep shirt and shorts option as well

Shoes and Accessories

There are lots of great classic pieces included in this years sale but I was personally drawn to fun pops of color bags playing into my favorite trend of rainbow stripes. I was disappointed to see that there were very few wide width shoes available but the ones that are there are perfect fall styles if you don’t have them already. To finish out your fall accessory refresh I do recommend a new hat because it makes any outfit look more chic and trendy and a pink watch for a feminine twist on a classic accessory.

Beauty

Beauty is one of the top reasons to shop the Nordstrom sale imo! I love luxury beauty products but it’s not always in my budget so I was thrilled to see so many of my favorite brands in this year’s sale. If you have never tried a YSL lipstick let me tell you, you’re missing out – so moisturizing and great pigmentation! Also I swear by the luxie brushes – I have the entire set!
