I know dogs don’t know it’s Christmas but let’s be real, it’s fun for us to spoil them and get them treats. I like to do a mix of toys and treats in their stockings. We typically stick to this but every few years we take advantage of holiday prices to get new dog beds. Our dogs also love fuzzy blankets, I’ve yet to keep one for my own use, so this is a good time to swap those out as needed as well.

Toys
Our dog Bella loves toys but she is super rough on them. Over the past year there has only been one toy to not eventually wind up shredded and that’s Ninja from the Zippy Tough collection. There are several other characters in this line as well, this year Bella will be getting wonder woman.
Both of our dogs love the bottle crushers and these hold up well. I’ve made the mistake of letting Bella get a hold of the shells without a water bottle inside and those have gotten torn up but as long as there is a bottle inside (which can be replaced) they are good. You can buy them individually but I prefer to buy a three pack (this is also great if you are buying for multiple dogs). We get stuff for my Dad’s dogs as well.
The other toys on my list are ones Bella does destroy but she really enjoys. Pelt style toys are great because they don’t have stuffing to make a mess everywhere.
The little burrowing sets are so cute and our dogs do enjoy getting the little pieces out but it’s just not built for their big dog teeth, I will probably get this for my Dad’s dachshund Chip.
And of course, what dog doesn’t love a good rope toy? Bella loves to play tug of war, Buddy just likes to chew on the rope and my Dad’s English Bulldog Winston loves the rope balls so I’ll just get a set and give one rope item to each dog.
Treats
Our dogs love rawhides and being the big dogs the are they can churn through them pretty quickly but the large braided candy canes always seem to last a little longer.
To round out their gift I’ll get some three dog bakery treats. We usually dole out milk bones and our dogs can tell these are something extra special.
I’m excited to see Bella and Buddy chomping down on their candy cane bones soon and I hope you have just as much fun with your dog this holiday season.
