Although my clothing is mostly unpacked and hanging in the closet I still have all my shoes and accessories in boxes and although I purchased a few items in May as part of my Wardrobe Makeover blogging about them is going to have to wait another week. Today though instead of talking about what I have bought I thought I’d share a few items that I’d like to buy.
I love this skirt so much, which also comes in blush BTW, and I pretty much want to copy the entire look here. This skirt is named after the Whimsy and Wonder blog and the bow and length really matches my style. I feel like I already have a blush skirt so I should get the purple but I also feel like purple is better in fall and winter so I should wait to purchase.
Mules are really in style right now and trend reports indicate this will carry into the fall. I had a nude pump on my wardrobe wish list for the year and I’ve yet to find one so I thought this might be a fun, more casual alternative.
I’ve been watching this top since March – I feel like it would be a good piece because it could be added to a lot of outfits or just elevate a plain tee like it’s doing for the model.
I’m usually not one for jumpsuits but I have a romper I love so this would be the next step in trying new things and I think this would be a fun alternative to a little black dress.
I used to wear dresses all the time and now I rarely do and I’d love to get a fun not black dress, I love the style on this one but the color is giving me some pause – it’s so cute though!
It’s funny how even in the few short month’s I’ve been focused on paring down my wardrobe how much my mindset has changed – just in the course of writing out this post I deleted three items from my wish list – a tie front blue and white gingham top ( I have one in peplum from VBxTarget and certainly do not need two gingham tops) a black dress (it’s nice and I probably do need a summer appropriate plain black dress but I put the jumpsuit on my list as a dress alternative, thus I don’t need both) and a lace pencil skirts (it’s pretty and looks amazing on other bloggers but if I’m being completely honest, pencil skirts just don’t work for me). In the past I’ve purchased items because they were currently in style, or looked pretty and now I find myself really evaluating each piece – how does this compliment would I already own and wear, does this fill any voids in my closet or do I already have something like it, is this something practical for my life style, how will I wear this piece? – basically all the stuff you’re supposed to think about before buying something.
During the course of the move I eliminated over 1/2 of my clothing and I’m looking forward to showing y’all in a future post how much my closet has changed. While the big move for me was a great opportunity to purge I’d recommend everyone pulling every single piece from their closet from time to time – it feels so much better not having a crammed closet and getting past impulse buying.
