This bag features six high end iconic beauty items and a style book. I got it mostly out of curiosity to try the products inside. Here’s what’s included:
La Mer – The Moisturizing Soft Cream $170
This is one of the most famous (and expensive) skin creams in the world. It certainly smells nice and makes the skin feel soft and smooth. For the price point though I’d have to give the full sample jar a try to make a decision because $170 per ounce is a lot of money and I do like the moisturizer I use currently.
Guerlain Radiance Face Primer $74
Ok, so here’s where I have a problem with this product – if I’m using an expensive moisturizer to give me “natural radiance” than why do I need a $74 primer to give me radiance? This goes on very smooth and does give a nice soft radiance but I feel like there are other products out there that do the same for a lower price point and the gold flecks is a total gimmick imo rather than providing any actual benefit.
Burberry Cat Lashes Mascara $30
I was really disappoiunted in this products inclusion, $30 isn’t too much more than other Sephora mascara. Mascarra is one product where I just can’t buy into the hype. This one allegedy gives a cat eye effect -no, it does what every other mascara does and coats your lashes with black gunk, end of story.
I think this is a bizarre color to send, when I think iconic beauty a red lip immediately comes to mind. Overall it’s a nice lipstick, goes on smooth but I find the coverage a little too light for my taste.
I really like the scent and would buy a bottle of this is the future, the price point is pretty reasonable for 1.7 oz of perfume so I think this would have been better included as the scent sample in a regular play box.
I’m not usually one for a “spicy” scent but I’m really dram to this one for some reason. It’s no an everyday scent IMO but for a sexy date night.
So, a lot of VIB Rouge members feel like this should have been sent complimentary (this membership level is achieved by a $1,000 or more annual spend) and I can’t completely disagree with that. Although the first two items are high end the others are products at the price point of their competitors just attached to high end fashion labels. I also think they should have sent five beauty products and one scent like a normal play box. I don’t regret purchasing this but it does make me question if I would purchase future special editions. I do like the gold bag so there’s that.
