Last night was the Preview Party for Memphis Fashion Week
and I stopped by with Shaun to check it out and pick up my VIP pass for the
weekend. The Party was held at Chickasaw Oaks which is one of my
favorite places in town (we almost had our wedding there – I think
it’s a great reception place but I couldn’t envision my ceremony there).

When
we arrived we had a yummy cocktail – MFW events all have alcohol served and
then checked out the VIP lounge where I got my VIP goodie bag and we noshed on
some bites from Simply Delicious – I snapped a picture of one of the desserts
because let’s be real – that’s always the best part.

The cocktail was delicious!
Kyle hosted Nicole Miller for a Trunk Show. In the courtyard there was a great music duo so we
enjoyed just sitting and listening to the music for a bit.
Also in the
courtyard Sachi demonstrated how they create their custom shredded tee looks
and freeze models showed off looks from some of the designers that will be
featured in Friday and Saturday’s shows – so pretty and definitly got me
excited for the main events.

For this event I wore a top restyled from my closet purge
project with a Tulle skirt and what was supposed to be my wedding shoes (long
story short my dress was not ordered in a long and I’m 5’10 so yeah, no heels).
When I first posted this top it got quite a few purge votes (but a good chunk
of keep votes too) and I’m really glad to decided to keep because I LOVE
this outfit. I’m really be digging black and white lately but I think the
fun-ness of the look keeps the color palette from being blah.
