I haven’t true any big beauty items lately worthy of their own post but there have been a few beauty items to become staples for me that I do think are worthy of sharing.
First off, lips. It seems like everyone and their mother is selling lip sense as the newest and greatest MLM and while there’s nothing wrong with a home based business I just don’t like a glossy lip. Plus, the price point is outrageous IMO – fifty something dollars for a lipstick and gloss , nope. I do however love the idea of a long lasting lipstick so lately I’m loving the Sephora collection lip stain. I received a sample in a shade of red in my December Play Box and knew I needed other colors. I picked up this pretty neutral while I was in for my most recent makeover. These lips stains are $14 which is w price point I am much more comfortable with. And yes, there was some wearing off but my lips still had plenty of color after six cups of tea.
For my face I’m really into the Clark’s Botanicals Marine Cream latley – so much so that I prefer it over moisturizers I could earn Sephora points with and at $115 for 1.7 oz that’s saying A LOT, (you can sometimes find it on different websites for less – the best non eBay price I have seen is $90) I received this in my very first IPSY bag and have been obsessed ever since. It’s lightweight, has a pleasant but light scent, and contains glycolic acid for light exfoliation. I find it stings a little if I put it on my freshly exfoliated face but that goes away quickly. I use this moisturizer night and day currently but as we head into spring I will need to switch to a daytime moisturizer with SPF.
For my nails I’m currently loving Trust Fund Beauty. Ignoring the fact that the color names are hilarious I love the colors offered but more importantly the coverage – streaky nail polish is the worst. Plus, the brush is a good quality making for easy application, usually I make a mess on my fingers when doing my nails but not with this brush. This brand was another fabulous Ipsy introduction and another item I purchase even though it doesn’t help me on my Rouge VIB quest. This is champagne socialite, it’s a little more rose gold in person.
So there you have it, my current beauty faves. Maybe I’ll have so new ones in my ipsy and Sephora play bags – which should be coming soon!
