As I’ve gotten older (and perhaps a little wiser) there are some things in life I no longer have the patience for. Near the top of my list is uncomfortable shoes. This is an area where I have pivoted to buying quality over quantity. However, it had been a struggle to find a quality, wide width, not too tall heel. While Ally Shoes are designed for all women and come in four widths (narrow, medium, wide and extra wide) as a plus size woman it’s especially important to me to wear a well made shoe. This is just a practical reality, I am putting more weight and pressure upon my shoes than average so I need a quality shoe that can stand up to the challenge. And not to ask too much, but I’d like them to be comfortable too.
The idea for Ally Shoes began after founder Samantha Dong injured her foot and had trouble finding a shoe to fit properly. I really related to this because I fractured several bones in my right foot years ago and even though I spent a whole summer in a walking boot it’s just never been right since then. When I found out Ally Shoes were designed in partnership with a podiatrist (foot doctor) I knew they were different than any shoe I had worn before and enthusiastically selected my very own pair.
I love a nude pump and Ally Shoes has five shades to match a variety of skin tones but for my pair I couldn’t resist the silver shimmer. Metallic shoes make a great neutral in my opinion and add a perfect touch of extra to an outfit. When my shoes arrived they exceeded my expectations – the shimmer is absolutely dazzling (with no glitter fallout I might add) and I was impressed with the quality and amount of padding.
The Ally Shoes classic pump has 3 inch heel which I think is just perfect but they do offer a kitten heel, 3 inch block, 2 inch block and flat if you are looking to go beyond a basic pump. The classic pump comes in suede and leather with a variety of colors. I do think Ally Shoes runs a bit narrow because I ordered a double wide and found the fit to be somewhere between a regular and wide width in other brands. They do offer a fit finder online and you can request a fit kit or at home trial box if you are worried about sizing. Returns or exchanges are accepted within 14 days so you don’t have to worry about being stuck with a pricey pair of shoes if the fit does not work out for you on the first try.

At $255 (retail price of $295 and $40 savings using my discount code) the classic pump is a bit of an investment but it is one I think is worth it when you look at it as something that will go with a lot of outfits. My pair was sent to me complimentary to review but they are absolutely something I would spend my own money on – I am debating between beige or navy to be my next pair. I actually received a pair from another high end popular brand last year and sent them back because they were too uncomfortable and something I could not recommend – I take my recommendations very seriously and never share anything I do not feel is a good value.
