When I asked if there was any interest in me sharing how I started hiking and my experience as a plus size hiker I figured a few people would be interested but I was blown away by the response! I got questions on everything from how to start, to what shoes to wear and I’m going to answer all of these things today.
To kick off the holiday season I’ve put together some outfit inspo for 25 holiday activities. Of course, you don’t have to buy anything new this year but I have linked items if you see something you like and I was very careful to select pieces that are available in both straight and plus sizes. My favorite thing about holiday styles is that they tend to be classics that you can wear year after year so my hope is that this post inspires you to shop your closet for what you already have and find a new piece or two that will make the perfect addition to your holiday wardrobe!
Gift giving is my love language so it makes me so happy when someone loves the gift I have given them. I think the thought behind a gift is more important than the dollar spent and great gifts can be found for great price points. This year I have rounded up my top picks for gifts under $25, gifts under $100 and a few items over $100 if you are looking to splurge on a man in your life.

I’m pretty sure I have mentioned this once or twice but the Kitty Dress from Draper James is my favorite dress ever! And the magnolia print is my favorite DJ print – so naturally I had to have the Navy Magnolia Kitty Dress and I had to have fun styling it three ways.
One thing I love about Draper James is that we will see the same silhouette offered in new prints each season so when there is a piece I really love I can have it in multiple prints. Here’s a look back at my favorite pieces from the Fall 2021 collection which included some of my established favorite styles and new silhouettes.
Our 5th anniversary is this week so to celebrate I thought it would be fun to share some memories from our first five years. I’m a big believer in only looking back to see how far you’ve come so it’s always sweet to look back on our journey.
I am a bit of a clothes hoarder – I have over 135 dresses alone! But, I do try and make sure that new pieces can mix into my wardrobe with other pieces I already own. Skirts are great pieces for mixing and matching and I love how they can be dressed up or dressed down. If you’ve been following me for a while you know I’m a huge fan of Draper James. Draper James rarely does skirts (they are really known for their beautiful but approachable dresses and are a big part of my 135 collection, lol). So, when I saw a skirt in their signature magnolia print in fall colors I knew I had to have it and this would be a piece I would be able to frequently restyle.
On the way home from our Smokey Mountain weekend we stopped to see one more waterfall – Ozone Falls. Ozone Falls is located in a natural
area between Knoxville and Nashville and is 110ft tall. The hike is very short -.3 miles – but it is all downhill and mostly over climbing rocks.
I’m a big proponent of the “treat yo self” mantra. I think it’s great women have adopted this mindset to give themselves permission to make big purchases or go on fabulous trips but I think it’s important to remember that sometimes there’s not a lot of time or money to treat yourself with. What has become one of my favorite self care rituals – taking an hour long bubble bath in our soaker tub – wasn’t always accessible to me. And I don’t think “treat yo self” is something we should only do on occasion either. So, I’m sharing some small ways to treat yo self on a regular basis. They are affordable and accessible, because we all deserve a little treat more than once in a while.
